Our family drove up a long winding Pennsylvania road in our big RV. We were wondering if we were in the right place, but then we saw the big beautiful front gates that said “Gobbler’s Knob“. We parked on the side of the building and hopped out to take a look around.

We all walked towards the famous stage where each February Punxsutawney Phil, the weather predicting groundhog, announces how many more weeks of winter we can expect. We posed for pictures near the famous stump and near the sign. Then we marveled at the beautiful landscaping.

Gobbler’s Knob, where Punxsutawney Phil decides the spring weather every February.

Everyone in our family wanted to get a picture in the front near those amazing gates. So we walked over to the front of the property and posed for some more pictures with the incredible stone structures.

Later that day we drove to the town center of Punxsutawney PA. We saw the extra Phils at “Phil’s Burrow” and some really cool groundhog statues. We went to a cute little restaurant called Punxy Phil’s for some souvenirs – all of the other stores had closed already (it was only 5pm on a Saturday). We were kind of surprised how sleepy the town was, but we managed to meet some really nice people and get a coffee mug to remember the day.

There were no Bill Murray sightings and the day did not repeat itself, but I would say that was a really good day! I would totally recommend going to Gobbler’s Knob and then later, if you’re hungry, maybe stop to get a bite at Punxy Phil’s!
