Quebec City, Canada is a charming destination that offers a unique winter wonderland experience, especially in January. My family and I recently took a trip to Quebec City and had some great adventures.

One of the highlights of our trip was sledding at Valcartier, which is located just outside of Quebec City. We had an absolute blast riding down the slopes on sleds and a 10-person raft. The park also had a variety of other winter activities like ice skating and snow tubing, but sledding was definitely our favorite.

After our sledding adventure, we headed over to the Valcartier Ice Hotel. The hotel is made entirely out of ice and snow, and it’s an incredible sight to see. We took a tour of the hotel and were amazed by the intricate ice sculptures and the unique architecture.

The following day, we spent an afternoon skiing and riding at Mont Sainte Anne. The mountain had a variety of slopes for all skill levels, so everyone in the family was able to find a run that suited them. The scenery was breathtaking, and the snow was perfect for skiing. It was a great way to spend the afternoon and get some exercise.

We stayed at the Hotel Palace Royal, a family favorite thanks to the pool and the location. The hotel is just outside of the historic walled Old Quebec City. We wandered around the quaint cobblestone streets, taking in the sights and sounds of the city. We tried some traditional Quebecois cuisine, including poutine and maple syrup taffy. The kids took a ride on the historic tabagon just oustide Le Château Frontenac.

Overall, our family trip to Quebec City was a fun adventure. The winter activities were a lot of fun, and the city’s charm and beauty always makes it worth the drive. We highly recommend a winter trip to Quebec City to anyone who loves the cold, snow, and adventure.
